EPICS High School Program

Summer Trainings for High School Teachers and Administrators

Requirements for participating in the EPICS High School program include attending a training session in the summer of 2007. Information for the training is listed below. Please contact Pamela Turner, Purdue University EPICS High School Program Coordinator with any questions at plturner@purdue.edu .

Schools are required to pay all expenses for travel and lodging for this training as explained in their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for participation in the EPICS High School program. This expense was to be included in budgets submitted with the MOU, and up to $2,000 needed for this training was offered to each school with no match necessary.

Dates

Two summer sessions will be offered in 2007 to train high school teachers and administrators participating in the EPICS High School program. Schools that have chosen to participate in this program are required to attend this summer training. Indiana schools are encouraged to attend the June session, while the July session is set for the out-of-state schools. If you have scheduling conflicts with these training dates, either session is available to all participants.

Week One:	June 11th - 15th for teachers June 115h & 12th for administrators
Week Two:	July 9th-13th for teachers July 9th & 10th for administrators

Lodging

June session participants will be lodged at the Hilton Garden Inn in West Lafayette , IN. A block of rooms is now reserved for Purdue Engineering EPICS for the nights of 6/11/07 � 6/19/07. Please contact the hotel to make your reservations. Rooms are limited and will be reserved on a first come first serve basis. We have been guaranteed a group room rate of $90.00 per night. Please call to receive this guaranteed rate by 5/18/07.

The July session participants will be housed in Purdue University 's Memorial Union Club Hotel. A block of rooms is now on reserve for Purdue Engineering EPICS for the nights of 7/8/-7 � 7/13/07. Please contact the hotel to make your reservations. Rooms are limited and will be reserved on a first come first serve basis. We have been guaranteed a group rate $89.00 - $105.00 per night. Please call to receive this guaranteed rate by 6/22/07.

Meals

On Monday, an afternoon break and a welcome dinner will be included with the workshop. Breakfast, Lunch, and break refreshments will be included Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday of the training, and on Friday breakfast will be included.

Transportation

Transportation to and from the Hilton Garden Inn to any spot on campus is available through the hotel. The Hilton Garden Inn is also within walking distance to campus. The Purdue Memorial Union Club Hotel is located on Purdue's campus.
